William & June

When William was born
And his father denied
In a hot summer storm
June laid down and cried

How could he say
The child is not his own?
June, was lead astray
She can't face this on her own

When she opened her eyes
Held her boy's little hand
She felt she must try
To raise a good man

How can they make it
With no one there to call
June, you've gotta make it
'Cause he's looking up to you

CHORUS:
William and June are gonna make it
Something inside her shows the way
They'll make it
They have to or we're all doomed to fail
They'll make it
And we'll make it too

As June watched him grow
To a strong happy man
Her gift to bestow
To live as I am

How could he say
The child is not his own?
William, he's a good man
And they did it on their own

CHORUS

In a hot summer storm
June laid down and cried
